Cristina Tafuri is an exhibition designer and project manager specializing in fine art and design. She holds an M.A. in Visual Arts Administration from NYU Steinhardt and a B.A. in the History of Art & Design with a focus on exhibition design from The New School.
With over a decade of experience, Cristina has led the design and management of exhibitions for renowned institutions and galleries, including Christie’s, Lévy Gorvy, Gagosian, Maccarone, R & Company, Marc Straus, MoMA PS1, LACMA, the National Academy Museum, the Brooklyn Historical Society, and the New Britain Museum of American Art. Her work extends internationally, with projects at major art fairs such as Art Basel, FIAC, TEFAF New York, Salon Art + Design, Frieze, and Frieze Masters.
Beyond the art world, Cristina has consulted on luxury residential developments and designed iconic corporate and hospitality environments throughout New York City. She has also served as visual merchandising lead and spatial project manager for high-end retailers, including Barneys, ABC Home, and Kate Spade.
in 2021 she joined the phillips private sale team, and has become the head of global exhibitions for PhillipsX - a dynamic selling exhibition platform operated by the global Private Sales team. Through PhillipsX, influences extends beyond the realm of auction and into the broader global cultural landscape by offering a boundaryless discovery, selling, and buying experience based on the traditional retail gallery model.
PhillipsX highlights notable artists and creators of the 20th and 21st centuries, creating new and important dialogues around established and emerging artists, movements, genres, and mediums.
